The Faculty of Land and Food Systems is a leader in integrated research and education that addresses global issues surrounding health and sustainable land and food systems.

Programs within the Faculty focus on three major resources: the natural resource including soil and water; the biological resource, including animals, crops and forests; and the human resource, including individuals and communities. Our strength comes from our diversity and our depth in both the natural and social sciences.

 


Students enrolled in the Agricultural Studies programs are offered the opportunity to study agriculture in lab-extensive programs that provide excellent practical experience with special emphasis on issues, research, and courses related and relevant to agriculture. Students study agriculture and its accompanying sectors including government, policy development, farm production, environmental implications, and agricultural sciences.

 

 

 

The College of Agriculture and Bioresources was one of two Colleges established at the U of S in 1909. Since then, agricultural teaching and research have been consistent areas of strength at the University, and practical transfer of College research to producers has played a significant role in the development of agriculture in Western Canada.

 

 

 


Agribusiness is a busy and exciting two-year program! We combine agriculture, technology and business to educate our students for one of Canada's largest industries. The program features hands-on activities, tours, field labs, and lots of networking opportunities. Career paths are abundant and allow you to work outdoors or indoors, in a rural or urban setting.

 

 

Since its inception in 1906, the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences has been a leader in the agri-food industry in Manitoba. The standard of excellence it has attained in its teaching and research programs is recognized across Canada and around the world.
